Show SEALS' CHIEF WILL CUT DOWN SQUAD Special to The Tribune. SANTA CLARA, Cal., March 14. It was James Whitcomb Riley who wrote, "The goblins '11 get you if you don't watch out." And It's Charley Graham who says that next Sunday night or Monday morning, or, anyway, so mo time after he's seen his boys through their "paces in three honest-to-goodness ball games, the goblins are going to get some of them. Graham has more ball players than he knows what to do with. Some of the youngsters have prospects and he will try-to try-to place them. Others came into the! training camp via some influence or other, and, while they are welcome enough, so far as that goes, they rather obscure the view of the men the manager man-ager wants to watch. So the talent is due for a heavy cutting down in the near future. There was no game today. The grounds were still too heavy for baseball, and, instead of a game, it was a general workout. |
