Show BOOTLEGGERS ARE CAUGHT IN OGDEN OGDEN. Nov. 1. A catch of four alleged al-leged bootleggers and an automobile load of 500 pints of whisky was made in Weber canyon at 11 o'clock tonight by Deputy Sheriffs' Joseph Geiger, William Brown and Henry Blackburn. . For lack of $1000 bail, Hyrum Jensen, driver of the loaded automobile, Is ,in jail, as are George Thompson and A. Mathews for lack of 5300 each. Mathews drove the pilot car, according to the arresting ar-resting officers, and was found with a pint of wine in his possession. Thompson was arrested in companv with "Buddie" Ryan, who furnished $300 to secure his liberation. The two were met by the officers as the prisoners and confiscated liquor were being brought down Weber canyon, Thompson and Ryan having driven from Salt Lake to meet the load, according to the version of the dejuties. The bonds were fixed by Judge J'- Agee of the district court. |
