An increase in the I number of deaths, making a total of six I ant' a decrease in the number of cases, I with a total of thirty-five, is the report I today, on the influenza epidemic in this I city- The number of deaths is the great-t great-t est nrmber that has been reported in any one of the past three days, but I the number of new cases Is the smallest I reported since the epidemic broke out I here more than a month ago. j In referring1 to the number of cases, I Sanitary Inspector George Shorten re- ported today that he has been informed f iMj'1 1 doctors that patients are rising fffbm sick beds too soon and many people rhave had to ejo back to bed. some never to rise again. Doctors of the city have made an appeal to the people of the city who are afflicted with the disease, not 1 to rise too soon. If they are in need of anything they should make an appeal to the Red Cross, or to friends or relatives for assistance, but under no circumstances should -they leave their beds until all danger dan-ger has passed. The deaths reported today, due to Influenza, In-fluenza, are as follows: Mrs. Brigham Robinson, Jr.. Walter P. Wallace, Joseph Ganser, Calvin Miller, Vera Alberta Allred and Paul Pruett. The death of Paul W. Stevens of Prig-ham Prig-ham City occurred at the local hospital this morning at S o'clock of influenza and pneumonia. The city health board announced today that it was advised by the state board of health that the public and private schools, theaters and other places which had been closed on account of the epidemic, epi-demic, will not be allowed to open until November 15, and not then unless the situation sit-uation is greatly improved. It was stated that the action, which has been started here for the opening of the schools, will be investigated tfy the state authorities. |
