Bate man died at his resi- : dence in Midvale on February 13 after a ! protracted illness, aged 53 years. Tie , was born in West Jordan. In October he married Frances Alice Glover. He served nine' years in the capacity of trustee and treasurer of the local district school board at West Jordan. Starting as a truck driver for the West Jordan Milling company, Mr. B'a tenia n became secretary and treasurer of the company, with which he was connected for about twenty years before be was forced by ill health to give up his duties. du-ties. When Midvale was incorporated i as a city in 19ca he was elected city recorder, re-corder, which office he filled for two terms. In church work Mr. Batcman spent many years as nix alternate high councillor coun-cillor in the Jordan stake, and for seventeen sev-enteen years he was also superintendent of the Midvale Sunday school class, being be-ing chosen to fill that position in Ufiy. In addition to his widow he is survived by six children, as follows: Misses Melissa Me-lissa and Kaura Batemau; Harold, Dean and F. Allen Bateman, and Mrs. Vera Van Horn. Fun oral sen. ices will be held at 7 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in the Midvale Mid-vale ward chapel, with Bishop John A. Aylett presiding. Friends may view the body at the residence from 11 :'i0 a. m. until 12:30 p. m. on the day of the funeral. fu-neral. Burial will be in Midvale cemetery. |
