Show ST. GEORGE TRIP IS MADE IN GOOD TIME Botterill and Shipler Report Fast Schedule in Auto Journey to Utah's Dixie. With Frank Botterill at the wheel and Harry Shipler as his congenial side-kick, the de luxe Hudson Super-six, which shook the dust of Salt Lake at the wee sma' hour of 4:50 yesterday morning, arrived ar-rived without a scratch in St. George at 4:33 in the afternoon, making one of the most enviable records yet heard of on ; the automobile rialto in Utah, j The odometer registered 331.6 miles. The time was 11 hours and 43 minutes. One stretch of 226 miles was passed .over without a single stop. Only one stop was made during the entire trip, and that was for the purpose of stocking up with gasoline, of which twenty-three gallons were used for the whole Journey. Mr. Shipler telephoned in last night that the roads were good and the party encountered a few intermittent rains, which did not impede progress to any considerable extent. Following is a table showing the towns passed and the times at which they were reached ; Left Salt Lake City. 4:50 a. m.; Provo, 43.8 miles, 6 a. m.; Nephi, 89.1 miles, 7:33 a. m.; Fillmore, 153.7 miles, 9:36 a. m.; Beaver, 214.8 miles, 11 :59 a. m. ; Cedar CHv, 270.4 miles, 2:27 p. m.; arrived St. George, 326.6 miles, 4:33 p. m. |
