Miss Edna Farns- I worth, tvhose encasement to Glen wood Elmore Traul was announced Sunday, and also In compliment to Mrs. Earle F. Farnsworth of San Diego. Covers were laid for twenty-eight guests at one long table. A large basket oi pink sweet peas and several smaller ones decorated the table. The place cards were in sweet pea designs. Unusual social Interest attaches to the news of the marriage of Miss Marion Hooper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Hooper of this city, and Lieutenant Walter Wal-ter E. Buckly, which took place Saturday at El Centro. Cal. The marriage cere-money cere-money was performed at 7 o'clock in the evening at the Barbara "Worth hotel at El Centro by the Rev. R. T. Stevenson. Miss Hooper had been visiting in San Diego for the past three months. Lieu- " tenant Buckly is with the First cavalry, T". S. A., stationed at Calexico. Mexico, just across the border. Introduced through mutual friends, a romance rapidly rap-idly developed between the charming ' Salt Lake girl and the young army offi- . cer. The news of the wedding, therefore, was not entirely a surprise, although no r formal announcement was made of the engagement. The bride is a popular young society girl of this city and is exceptionally talented tal-ented in a musical way. Besides being a pianist anil violinist, she has the novel gift of whistling and has gained considerable consid-erable reputation along that line. Lieutenant Buckly has been transferred trans-ferred to Fort D. A. Russell. Wyo., and will leave soon for that point. He and his bride will stop in Salt Lake for a i visit on their way to Wyoming. Miss May Billings entertained at breakfast break-fast at her home In the Hillcrest apartments apart-ments yesterday in honor of Miss Mavrne .Price, a bride of this week. A basket of red peonies was the centerpiece for the table and the place cards were in patriotic patri-otic emblems. American flags and flowers flow-ers In red,, white and blue adorned the living room. The hostess was assisted by Miss Kathryn Gabbot. The guests included, in addition to Miss Price and Miss Gab-hott, Gab-hott, Mrs. Frank Otterstrom. Miss Ethel Groesbeck, Mrs. Jane Haskell, Miss Edna Edwards, Miss Ella Neilson. Mrs. James Wood of Chlco, Gal., Miss Florence Wool-ley, Wool-ley, Mr?. Henrv Bockholt, Miss Lisle Bradford, Mrs. W. G. Williams, Miss Sue Stembrldge and Miss Leona Billings. Miss Ida Skillicorn and Harold G. Goddard God-dard were married last night at 8 o'clock at the home of the bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Goddard, 735 East Broadway. A reception followed. Red and white carnations were used In the living room, and a color scheme of pink and white prevailed in the dining room. ' The supper table had a basket of pink carnations and white snapdragons as a centerpiece. Pink ribbon extended from the chandelier. The bride wore white Georgette crepe and carried bride roses. The ceremony was performed by Father S. Anzalone. A wedding supper for relatives followed i at the home of the bride's aunt, Mrs. J. B. Taylor, on East South Temple street.
