Sergeant Shaffer, who has been in charge of the recruiting office of the United States army in this oily since it was opened, 1 las been o rd ered 1 o repo r t for d u t y a t the Salt Lake recruits ng office. Me has made many friends since his stay here and has taken an active part in all patriotic pa-triotic demonstrations, as well as rendering ren-dering every possible assistance to local drill squads and others desiring instruction instruc-tion along military lines;. Corporal Steele, who has been assisting Sergeant Shaffer at the local office, has been detailed for similar duty at Boise. The local navy recruiting station has been notified that after Juiy 15 only one enlistment a week will hp received at the PocateHo office. John H. N. Sweet, who enlisted in the navy, was the only recruit re-cruit reported today. |
