With no direct rcformr? to the foutrovcrs-v portaiui.ig lo the rcsipiiHtion of the snperintpu'lent and only a brief mention of military drill in" the senior high fehool, the Opden City board of education held a meetinc; tonight which was distinctly mild in comparison to the session ul last Wednesday. Director J. W. Leve-dahl. Leve-dahl. who is regarded as the only John M. Mills supporter left on the board, did not. attend the meeting. W. H. Williams, vice president, presided, H. H. Henderson and Wade Johnson being be-ing the other members present. The principal business of the. meet-iug meet-iug was embodied in a. report, from J. E. Beesou, principal of the senior high school, and student body officers of the same institution on the assemblies assem-blies held last Monday for the purpose pur-pose of criticising an editorial in an Ogden evening newspaper. No action was taken by the board on the reports other than to order the communications filed. At the Wednesday night meeting Judge Henderson sponsored a request that Principal Beeson be required lo submit a written report on the assembly as-sembly at which drastic resolutions were passed condemning the editor of the evening paper for his utterance. According to the report of the principal prin-cipal neither he. nor any member of the high school faculty suggested to anv member of the student bodv that the assemblv be held. He also informed in-formed the board that every teacher of the staff taught, full time during the week with exception of the assemblies assem-blies on Mondav and one today. One or two teachers were excused during the week on account of sickness. The .report from the principal was corroborated by an appended report from the students, officers of the Clas-sieum Clas-sieum and class organization, who were responsible for the assemblies being held. |
