Show CAPACITY OF PLANT WILL BE INCREASED Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, Jan. 14. Due to a 100 per cent increase in the business transacted during the past year, stockholders of the Ogden Packing & Provision company at their annual meeting this afternoon instructed in-structed the officers to make immediate plans for increasing the capacity of the local plant on Twenty-fourth street. This actiou is considered necessary in spite of the fact that the capacity of the plant was doubled during the past twelve months. Lars Hansen was elected president of the company. The other officers are Fred J. Kiesel, vice president; l-i. Jensen, secretary; James Pingree, treasurer, treas-urer, and they, together with Charles Zeimer. form the directorate. Detailed plans for enlargement of the local plant are to be worked out at early meetings of the officers and directors. According to Manager Jensen, the decision de-cision to increase the operating equipment equip-ment is largely due to the extension of the company's markets to New York, Boston and Atlanta, Ga., in this country coun-try and to London. Liverpool and Manchester Man-chester in England. The business has also increased in Utah, and it is proposed pro-posed in the near future to open markets mar-kets in Oregon and Washington. One year ago the capital stock of the packing company was increased from $300,000 to $1,000,000 and since that time the ca-pacity of the plant has been doubled. In spite of this enlargement, it is now being operated to its lull day capacity and has obtained a special permit per-mit from the government lor night work each week. |
