Show SALT LAKE WOMAN TO PICKET WHITE HOUSE Mrs. Charles T. Robertson Leaves for Washington to Work for Susan B. Anthony Amendment. Declaring she would ternrn to Salt Lake as soon as she was released from prison and seemingly believing she would be sentenced' to serve a term in Oeeoyan workhouse, VTnhiugton, D. C, Mrs. Charles T. Robertson 730 South West Temple street, left yesterday afternoon to aid in picketing the White house in behalf of the national suffrage amendment. Mrs. Robertson, who is a member of the Salt Lake braru'.h oi the Women's National party, is being sent to the capital and her expenses are being defrayed by the local branch. She. is the second Salt Lake woman to be sent as a picket this week by the branch, Mrs. E. B. Quay having gone to Washington Tuesday night. Among the members of the Salt Laie branch of the party, who accompanied Mrs. Robertson to tho train , were: Mrs. Elizabeth Cutler Jenkins, chairman chair-man for Utah of the Women's National party; Mrs. Louise M. Garnett, legislative legisla-tive chairman; Mrs. J. M. Middleton, secretory, and Mrs. P. S. Witcher, treasurer. treas-urer. Mrs. Robertson will offer her services ser-vices as a picket immediately upon hor arrival at Washington. "Siuce August ninety women advocates advo-cates of the national suffrage amendment amend-ment which is up for action m December, Decem-ber, have received prison sentences," Mrs. R-obertson said. "I do not expect to escape arrest. ' ' Mrs. Robertson is a Socialist and has been a suffrage worker several years. Mrs. Jenkins stated yesterday that she cared nothing for Mrs. Quay's politics poli-tics and was interested only in her work : for the suffrage amendment. The state- I ment followed the action of the eiecu- ! tive committee of the Women 's Demo- i cratie club in refunding tho dues Mrs. Quay had paid as a member of that organization. |
