Show VOCATIONAL TRAINING DIRECTOR APPOINTED Francis W. Kirkham was appointed by the state board of education as Utah director di-rector of vocational education, following a conference yesterday between W. G. Hummel, federal agent for agricultural education in charge of the western district dis-trict under the federal vocational education educa-tion boa rd : Dr. E. G. Gowans, state superintendent of public Instruction, and Professor J. C. Hogenson, state leader in agricultural education of the Agricultural college of Utah at Logan. B. W. Johnson, John-son, federal agent for Industrial education educa-tion In the Pacific district, is expected here today to join in a continuation of the conference. The duties of Mr. Kirkham will be to organize and supervise vocational education educa-tion In Utah, to systematize the productive produc-tive help of the public schools in assisting to meet national emergency problems, and to co-operate with other organizations in the state which are aiming at vocational capability. t |
