STUDEBAKER SALES II JEW RECORD DiTROIT Oct 10 A remarkable commentary on buying conditions throughout the United States is af forded by a statement issued by the Studebaker comporation regarding the September sales of its automobiles wh ch m defiance ofL all precedent were greater for lat month than dur ing any other In the h story of the or gamzation That this cond t on maintains in an aut mn month a thirty day month at that s in tself a striking departure from convention as Vice President Benson po nts out for the h ghest pro d ct on records at nearly all automo bile factories have been established dur ng the months of April May and June Mr Benson says Dur ng September our sales of Studebaker four and six au tomobiles amounted to nearly $o 000 000 All of these cars are now in the hands of the buyers Had we been able to build "000 more cars we would still have found an act ve demand for them Such a cond tion can only be interpreted as a conclus ve evi dence of national prosperity, and business confidence It is ail the more gratifying because the demand de-mand comes not from any one rjart of the country but is generally dis tr buted bein strongest in the M ssiss ppi valley and including substantial increases over pr or sea sons from New England the Pa cific coast and even the south Our September bus ness may have been st mulated somewhat by the first appearance in large num ber of two new body styles our three passenger roadster four and five passenger touring six Pnor to September 1 we had shipped only dealers samples of these styles The broad develop ment of our nat onal plan for serv ice to owners of our cars has also become increasingly well known and undoubtedly influenced many sales But back of all the attract veness of our product and service and necessary before the po nt of action could be reached was the fact that Amenca had the money to buy the cars and the will ngness to spend It.
