Cottonwood district. Freight will bo hauled to tlie property within a week's time. There are now three carloads of ore ready for shipment. It averages ?30 to the ton. President A. O. Jaoobson, who has returned from a trip to the property, said yesterday that he expected ihe shipments ship-ments to be made within the next week. There are also two carloads of high-grade ore to be shipped from the property of the Wasatch Mines company. President Jacobson said that the work of developing the new ore body encountered encount-ered receniiy on the Alta Consolidated indicated that the new rind will develop Into one of considerable importance to the company. It- was opened up in the east drift from the main tunnel level and is on the famous Brume fissure. The ore is of a silver-lead carbonate nature. It lias been drifted for fifty feet alon its etrike and in that distance averages in width in the roof, floor and breasts of the drift, between two and three and one-half one-half feet. U has also been raised on for thirty-five feet and is strong in tbe roof of the raiso. The weather conditions at the camp during the past three weeks have prevented pre-vented shipments from being made. There is considerable activity, nevertheless, in tiie entire district. At the Cardiff the work of driving the raise ahead is beins pushed and no attempt is being made by the management to break any more ore until the roadways have ben opened up. The South Hecla property is said to have a large tonnage of ore ready for shipment. ship-ment.
