Show CHAMPIONSHIP PLAY IN TENNIS TODAY . NEW YORK, Feb. IS. G. F. Touch-ard, Touch-ard, the playing through champion, and A. M. Lovibond won their places In the final round of the singles in the national indoor championship tennis tournament today on the courts of the Seventh Regiment Regi-ment armory. Touchard had no difficulty diffi-culty in beating T. R. Pell, a former champion. 6-3, 6-3. Pell was weak on his backhand. His drives were poorly timed and so lengthy as to overshoot the court and lie did not threaten his rival Lovibond beat B. S. Prentice, former Harvard captain, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2. The feature of the semifinals In the doubles was the smashing of Karl Behr, i who paired with Pell. The Davis cup player was in fine form and he pulled Pell along with hint to victory over J. M. S'telnacher and Lincoln Reimer at 6-1. 3-6, 6-0. The championship match in the singles will be played tomorrow and the championship cham-pionship match in doubles decided on Monday morning. |
