Show SPECIAL REPORT IS ORDERED ON WOOTTON BILL An effort to secure a report from the committee on manufactures anil commerce com-merce of the house on the Wootton prohibition pro-hibition bill failed in the house j-ester-ilay Representative Samuel Oldham ot Cache moved that the house direct the committee to report toe prohibition bill out of committee and that It be made a sper-ial order for consideration at 2:30 o'clock Tuesdav afternoon. Representative Representa-tive Samuel Taylor of Utah county seconded sec-onded the motion. . Representative Charles L. TYarnicK, chairman of the committee on manufactures manufac-tures and commerce, said that his committee com-mittee had onlv just received the bill and that while the members of the committee com-mittee appreciated the importance of the measure, thev wanted some time in which to consider It. He said they were planning for a public hearing on the bill Paturdav nieht and it was possible that the committee mitrht be ready by Tuesday to report tho bill to the house. Mr. Oldham's motion was defeated by a decisive vote. |
