Show TRANSPORTATION CLUB HAS A GALA EVENING Fast Wrestling Match Is Ono of tho Interesting Features of the Programme. Tho usual monthly business mooting and smoker of tho members of the Salt J Lako City Transportation club possessed pos-sessed moro than usual interest last night. Business mutters woro disposed of in short order, and then tho mom-"bers mom-"bers listened to two lectures on tho engineering and building of a railroad, which were given by Carl Stradlcy, chief engineer of tho Oregon Short 1 Lino, and V. R. .Armstrong, who is in I chargo of construction of tho Salt Lake ' & Utah Electric railroad. Much interest wnB manifested in a wrestling match which camo as a clos- ing fcaturo to .tho programme of tho t evening, and which also cam as a' surpriso to most of tho momberu of the! club. Georgo McLeod of San Fran-5 Cisco and II. Van Duaon of Salt Lake City were tho participants iu tho match, McLcod throwing his opponent twice in about twenty minutes. A. R. McNitt, chairman of tho entertainment en-tertainment committee of the club, was heartily congTntulatcd on tho success of th programme, and ho in turn promised prom-ised that ho would havo another surprise sur-prise at tho next meeting. |
