A deal which has been pending for some time between the Montana-Blng-ham Consolidated Mining company and the Blngham-Congor Copper Mining company, com-pany, whereby tho lattor company secures se-cures tho right to transport Its ores through tho long tunnel being driven by the former company, was closed yesterday, yester-day, at which time a check for 510,000 j was trnnaforreU to tho officials of lhe Montana-Blngham. j This money, together with that which has been subscribed on the bond Issue of tho Montana-Blngha.il, will ennblo the company to complete the tunnel, whlcn will not only sorvo an a. moans of transportation trans-portation for tho oroa of at least 5x Bingham companies, but will drain these proportlea at a much greater depth than baa yet been attained In any of them. Tunnel in 2400 Feet. Tho tunnol Is now In about 2400 foot, and will bo continued at least 1000 leet farther, at which dlstanco It will hava cut the veins of the Bingham-Congor and Keystone Extension properties. It la estimated esti-mated that the tunnel will be comploted within tho next eight or nine months. Tho vclnH of the Fortuna property, the ores from which will also bo transported through tho Montana-BIngham tunnel, will be cut within the next 600 fc6t. Tho company has boen working on this tunnol moro than two years. The Montana-BIngham company also has an agreement with Colonel D. A. "Wall to tho effect that ho will contract with it to handlo the Starless ores through its tunnel If such an arrangement is made, six companies will operate through tho Montana-BIngham tunnol, and it is estimated that there arc. or will bo by the time the tunnel Is completed, at least 1.500,000 ton3 of oro developed, on v.'hleli a saving of at least 40 per cent will bo made In the cost of mining and transportation trans-portation to the railroad. Will Build Mill. It is tho Intention of all companies involved in-volved to get together and erect a mill which will bo used Jointly, aftor the amount of milling ore nnd proper methods meth-ods of treatment have been determined. Whenever shipmonts are mado from the properties In the combination It is noces-sary noces-sary to haul the oro by team to tho railroad, rail-road, nnd this hauling costs from ?1.50 to ?2 a ton. When the Montana-BIngham tunnel Is completed, this expense will be eliminated. Tho portal of the tunnel Is within sixty feet of the railroad tracks and twenty feet abovo them, and chutes will bo built which will take the ore rjm tho mine cars directly into the railroad cars.
