Show FIRE AT PARK CITY. Energetic Work of Department Prevents Disaster, Special to The Trihuno. PAR.TC CITY. May 21. Fire which threatened the upper part of Main street broke out this morning about ( o'clock in the Berry livery stable and hut for tho prompt arrival of the members of the volunteer tire department, wlio worked hard and soon had threo streams of water playing on the burning building, build-ing, heavy loss might have been the result re-sult today. The cause of tho lire is not doftnltelv known, but it is supposed that some careless care-less hand about the stable dropped a lighted match or a burning clgaroUc into some hay in the rear of the building, where a smoldering blaze burned until tho whole rear end of the stable was In flames. The fire alarm was turned Jn bv men coming from work at the mines and who discovered that the building was In flames and that tho whole town was in danger of being burned if quick action wbh not made. The loss to the Berry Bros., owners of the stable, will amount to about 5700. as the water which was thrown on th burning building completely ruined the several tons of hay nnd oats which were stored In the stable. No Insurance was carried, so th Ioks Is atrlctly a dead loan. Joseph Langford. who was injured In tho Silver King mine yesterday, is doing nicely, nnd while ho is badly Fhaken up with one leg broken, still his Injuries arc not internal, as at first feared. |
