SHARP DISMISSES DEPUTY. "Fires" Competent Officer Who Opposed Third-Term Scheme. For Sheriff Sharp It was announced at the county convention of the Republicans Republi-cans Tuesday that he would support enthusiastically en-thusiastically the ticket namd at the convention, despite his own defeat. The sheriff began his enthusiastic support yesterday by summarily dlsmlsaing Deputy Dep-uty Sheriff John C. Corless, one of the most competent officers of his force. Mr. Corless was formerly a candidate for sheriff, but wlthdrow a few days ago in favor of Deputy Sheriff Andrew Smith. Jr.. and assisted greatly In defeating Sharp.
