Show ACCEPT HOUSE PLAN OF REAPPORTIONMENT WASHINGTON. June 2C The senate committee on census today agreed to report re-port the congressional reapportionment bill without amending It, providing for 3 representatives, notwithstanding possibly pos-sibly all the committee members had expressed ex-pressed themselves ns opposed to the Increased representation. The bill provides for forty-two representatives repre-sentatives over the proscnt number, and was framed so as to prevent a decrease of the membership from any state. Threo of the ten members proscnt Senniors T,a Follette. Dupont nnd McLean voted In the negative; but, whllo expressing disapproval at the Increase, the other seven decided to allow the! house to have Its way In a. matter so peculiarly pertaining per-taining to Its own affairs. The report will be withdrawn for a week to give Mr. La Follette time to prepare a minority mi-nority report, which will be presented by Senator Bailey. |
