Show MANY GRADUATES CM CERTIFICATES Exercises Held Friday Morning at the High School Gymnasium. Friday morning, in the high school gymnasium, tho clghlh grade mid-year graduating exorcises were observed, and certlllcates of graduation were presented lo il!) girls and boys by D. H. Christcn-scn. Christcn-scn. city superintendent of schools. The gymnasium assembly was taxed to Its fullest capacity by parents, patrons and friends of the graduates. The exercises were exceedingly interesting.' each school taking part. Much to the regret of those present was the inability of Mayor John S. Uransforil lo be present and deliver an address. The selections by the Lafayette oichestra and tho girls' ehorns from the same school were prominent numbers on tlit programme. Principal George A. ICalon of the high school gave an address on "Looking Forward." which called the at ten lion of the young graduates to the Importance of continuing their studies on through the high school. The solo, "I Used to Pcllcvc In the Fairies." bv George Spink of tho Webster school, was pleasing. The Lafayette school leads in the number num-ber of graduates, having r3 against .IS from the Lowell, which stands second. The I'nlon school Is a close third with 37 members of Ihe elass. The class fiom the Oquirrh school numbered 7, nnd the Webster class It Is expected that tho majority Of the graduates will enter the .high school next Monday. This addition will swell the lota I enrollment of the high school to nearly 1600. |
