Preliminary steps towards the organization organ-ization of a Salt Lake chapter of the American Institute of Architecture were taken at a meeting held at the Commercial Com-mercial club Tuesday night. Thc .meeting .meet-ing wa-; attended by more than twenty prominent architects of Salt Lake and the Interest shown In thc organization was such as lo Insure the ultimate attainment at-tainment of Its object. An excellent dinner was served, at which several of the architects outlined Hie purposes of thc organization, calling attention to the fact that thc American institute of Architecture Is one of the largest and most Influential of thc professional pro-fessional organizations of ihe country and also stating that Salt Lake is prac-j prac-j tlcally the only city of Its size In thc country In which there Is no chapter of the organisation. A commit tee to draft a constitution and by-laws for the Salt Lake chapter was appointed, conolstlng of W. E. Ware. L. T. Cannon, V. M. L'lmer, J. Kent and A. Ersklne. This commltloe will report at another meeting to be held Tuesday evening of next week when it Is cxpectd that a permanent per-manent organization will be effected. S. C. Dallas was elected temporary chairman chair-man and P. D. Rutherford acted ns secretary sec-retary of the ilrst meeting. |
