SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT ENTERTAINS AT BANQUET D. H. Chrlstonsen, citj' superintendent of schools, and Mrs. Chrlstensen were host and hostess nt a banquet given at tho Lafayetto school last evening. Mombers of the board of education, the supervisors of tho public schools and the principals of the city schools, with their wives, were the guests of the Buperintendcnt. Preceding tha banquet the guests witnessed wit-nessed the production of two German playlets by the German pupils of the Bryant preparatory school under tho direction di-rection of Frauloln Meta Bocttcher. These two playlets were the ones produced by the same class several days ago and in wliich the youngsters made such an immense im-mense hit. Rare dramatic talent and wonderful ability in correct German pronunciation were shown by the children who appear-In appear-In the playlets. Their success before the heads of the school system last night was the crowning triumph of their successful year In German. The success of the children reflected the talent and ability of Fraulcln Bocttcher, who has had charge of their Instruction In German during the year.
