Show TEMPERANCE UNION HOLDS MEETING AT FORT DOUGLAS The W O. T. U. held It? monthly meeting at Fort Douglas Thursday evou-lng evou-lng for tho soldiers. There was a decidedly de-cidedly helpful and Interesting programme. pro-gramme. Miss Russol gave a paper on "Fighting Llfes Rattle." Miss Ruby Lang gave three Interesting recitations, and Miss Edltli Walker rendered three beautiful beau-tiful som;s. "Over the Line." "Almost Persuaded." and '"Where Is My Wandering Wander-ing Roy Tonight?" The soldiers joined in the chorus of the latter. Chaplain Clemens of Fort Douglas gave a talk iu which he tried to 'draw a line between the good and the bad friends one has. Ho said a man may sometimes try lo do rlfrht. and an acquaintance, whom he calls a friend, will persuade him to do wrong. This Is an example of a bad friend, while a good friend will help and persuade a man to do right, he said. After the programme, pledge cards were passed around and several of the boys signed them. |
