Show Park City Society Special to Tho Tribune. PARK CITY, June 1. A very pleasant affair was that of Sunday, when Jinks Nelson enlcrtainod a crowd of his friends at the Nelson Queen mine. A carriage loud of young people left the city shortly after 0 o'clock for the mine, which Is about six miles cast of here, and as the weather was Ideal tho rldo was a vory enjoyable one. Upon tho arrival of tho party at the mine, a trip through tho workings was Urst In order, the party being piloted by the host, Jinks Nelson. Immediately following this all repaired to the boarding house, whoro a lino spread was partaken of by them. Tho remainder of the day was spent in games and music. Tho return trip was mado In the cool of tho evening, it being about 9 o'clock when tho homes wero reached. As above stated, the affair was greatly enjoyed, and another such day is eagerly awaited by tho fortunate ones who were so royally entertained by Mr. Nelson. Those prcsont were tho Misses ICalo Ma-lone, Ma-lone, Mlnnlo and Kathryn Cunningham, Jcsslo McDonald and Eva Hughes; Messrs. Jinks Nelson, Jako O'Llner and Alex McDonnld. Mr. ami Mrs. Col Campbell left Friday Fri-day afternoon for Kansas City, whero they expect to spend tho summer. Sam Truwick entertained at dinner Sunday at tho Wabash mine for a few of his friends. The guests wero Mr. and Mrs. Fred T. Williams, William Trc-wlck Trc-wlck and Leo Talbot. Mrs. McKenzIe, mother of Mrs. John McLcod, left Frldny morning for nor homo In Nova Scotia, after a visit of nine months In Parle. Mrs. Ellra Nelson returned to Park Monday morning, after a lengthy stay In Marysvalo, Cal. The benefit dance for the wife and children of J. J. Boylo was glvon Thursday Thurs-day evening In the I. O. O. F. hall and was largely attended. Quite a neat sum was realized for them. Mrs. May and Miss Christine McDonald wore passengers to Salt Lako Friday afternoon, aft-ernoon, whero they will remain for somo time, Mrs. Fred Tracy spent a few days in Park this week. Mrs. A. B. Williams and daughter, Marjorle, spent Sunday in Hcber. Tho members of the graduating class of the eighth grade enjoyed a very pleasant pleas-ant trip lo the Schneltor Hot Pots Friday. Fri-day. A lunch, which had boon prepared by the young lady members of tho party, was eaten on tho banks of tho Provo river, and to say that tho meal was enjoyed en-joyed Is putting it mildly, for tho crowd of merry-makers, nfter their long ride In tho fresh mountain air, wero hungry lndoed and did justice to the lunch. Tho afternoon was spent at the Hot Pots, where a number of tho party onjoyed the bathing at that placo. Tho return trip was mado In tho evening, and tho tired but happy crowd arrived home about dark, The members of the M. E. church choir enjoyed an outing at the Hot Tots Saturday. Sat-urday. Frasier Buck and Roger McDonough will take a summer courso at tho Logan Agricultural collogo, and left Friday morning for that place. Mrs. Cass and daughters visited In Park this week with friends. Mrs. II. S. Townscnd spent tho week in Salt Lake with relatives. Mrs. Townscnd will entertain tho members mem-bers of the Past Noble Grand club at her homo Tuesday next. Mrs. Fred Young of Salt Lake came up to Park to attend tho funeral of tho late Jonnnlo Canty. The mombcrs of the Ladles' society of the Congregational church wero pleasantly entertained Friday afternoon by Mrs. F. W. Unyt at her homo bulovl town. Mr. and Mrs. John Welsh nnd son. Thomas, arc home again, after a pleasant visit In Salt Lako with relatives. Miss Lottie O'Llner Is visiting with friends In Salt Lake. Miss Lilly Mortcnson visited in Pari; this week. |
