Show THIS MAN OWES LIFE TO A CASE OF BOOKS Special to Thc Tribune. PROVO. Jan. 5. Ross Draper, circulation circu-lation and advertising manager of tho Herald, owes his life to a case of books. The books Intercepted tho load of shot from a shotgun in thc hands of "Dick" Jones, and undoubtedly saved Draper from Instant death. Thc -shooting, which occurred between 9 and 10 o'clock Tuesday night, was accidental, ac-cidental, and no prosecutions will be made. " Jones had returned to Provo, after participating In the big rabbit hunt near Lehi. and had gone Into thc office of R. A Barney & Co., separated from the Herald office, which Draper occu-nlcd, occu-nlcd, by a thin partition. While In tho Barney office, Jones accidentally discharged dis-charged his gun. the load plowing Its way through thc partition and Into a case of books, on tho othev side of which, In direct line with the load of shot, was Draper. |
