Ten arrests have already been made In Alabama and Texas and one of tho alleged conspirators conspira-tors was ready to cross Into Mexico when he was taken Into custody. Details of the swindle were made public pub-lic today by Representative Hnrry Cutler Cut-ler of this city, who was n. member of tho committee of tho New York jewelry board of trade, to capture the conspirators. con-spirators. The scheme was to buy jewelry throughout tho country and ship It to Montgomery. After that, tho reports say, dummy packages wore sent from a Montgomery Mont-gomery firm to oLher stores controlled by It. Those were then credited as tho real shipments of valuable goods and so listed. The stores were then set on tiro, It Is alleged, and the dummy packages were listed as lost assets by the firm In bankruptcy proceedings.
