At the I'rovo race track yesterday afternoon there was an exhibition of standard-bred stallions, trotting trot-ting and pacing horses. Considering the unfavorable condition of the track and the short time In which the horses have been trained this spring, there was some-last some-last rime made. Harmonic, owned In Sprlngvlllc, trotted a half-mlie In 1:11. lMllle Sherblt. owned In Provo. paced a half-mile In 1:12. I Queen Pomona, owned tv It. B. Allen of Prcvo. paced a half-mile in 1:101. Miss Ginger, owned by .1. W. Knight, 2 years old, paced a half-mile In l:3"-l. Hozemnn. three-year-old stallion, and owned In Sprlngvlllc. trotted a half-mile In 1:26. then paced a half-mile In 1:101. TIntIc, owned by John ltoundv, paced a h.ilf-mlle'In 1:25. Prodigal, owned hy It. E. Allen, trotted a half-mile In 1 :i:t. The exhibition of driving teams owned by Amanda Knight, Joseph T. Far- rer,.itvli. Allen and V. Lester Mangum marie a splendid exhibition, as well as I good time. - I The Kenluckv saddle stallion owned bv J. William Knight gnve a wonderful exhibition of his dlfterciit gaits. The stallion Is considered the most wonderful horse of his class that, has ever come west. With all these splendid and fast horses, Utah county will try to lead in the horse line. |
