Show Green River Items. "Special to Tho Tribune. G RISEN RIVER, April 22. Attorney C. M. Oakes was at Moab the fore part of this week on some official business. He was well pleased with that section of Grand county. Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Walton of Nlles, Mich., arrived hero last Saturday. to spend the summer with his son. J. E. Walton. Mr. Walton will look after his son's fruit ranch the coming summer. J. C. Johnson of Palisade, has just completed a six-room residence on his lot on North Broadway, which will be for rent. lie Is also going to build a small cottage on the back of his lot, in which he will live himself. J. P. Epperson & Son of Colorado Springs have their building well under way. It Is being constructed of cement blocks. AVhen completed they will conduct con-duct a harness and leather goods store. Alfred Porsman is building a large, modern residence on his corner lot on Second avenue and Cherry street, which will be occupied by himself and family. Mrs. Lloyd Slgler of Salt Lake City, who has been the guest of Mrs, Rod McDonald the past few days, has returned re-turned to her home. W. S. Smith, who purchased the F. A. Beaumont and Polileano properties, returned re-turned to his home In Alnsworlh, Neb., after having finished setting both tracts to orchard. 11. E. Show, tho contractor here, has commenced the construction of 10.000 feet of cement sidewalk throughout the busi ness portions or town. They win pe eight feet wide. These sidewalks will be a decided Improvement lo the city. WIm Thompson has commenced the erection of a fine modern residence on his property on West Orchard home. It. is being built of cement, blocks and will cost In tho neighborhood af $2500. It will do great credit to that part of town. Victor Earp. the call boy, was taken 111 Monday and it Is feared that ho may have an attack of pneumonia. Tho steam pumping plant of tho Island Home Orchard company has arrived and Is being Installed on the Island. It will be used for pumping water to Irrigate the orchards that are set out over there. Nothing Imt first-class machinery Is in this pumping plant, and in the course of a very few days water will bo flowing in the ditches all over the Island. Mr. Little has commenced tho construction con-struction of his residence on the Hull twenty-acre truct, which ho purchased last, winter. George E. Thurmnn reports that lie has sold out his forty acres and will probably go east when lie leaves, Mr. Thurmnn was one of the first to see tho possibilities of thls valley. Tho ladies' honidand foreign missionary mission-ary society Is going to meet with Mrs. Harry Spalding tomorrow afternoon. Dr. O, E. Colman returned home from Denver, Colo., Sunday, having been called there on account of the sickness of his ."istor. The Women's Christian Temperance Union will ive an oratorical contest in the Presbyterian church on the evening even-ing of April 2::. The contest is between several young ladles, and a beautiful medal will be presented to Iho winner. |
