Show TROUBLE WITH EXPERTS IN THE HA INS TRIAL FLUSHING. N. Y., April 22. A commotion com-motion was caused in Ihe. camp of the defense today at the trial of Captain Peter C. Ilnins. .fr., charged with murdering mur-dering William 10. Annis. It came, from a declaration by Dr. L. S. Manson, an alienist retained by tho defense, tvlio declared that in his opinion Captain Mains was not insane at presont and that tho defense did not intend to raise such an issue, but; would rest with the proof that the defendant was insane at tho time of the shooting. Tho phvsician was severely censured by IIains';s lawyers for expressing this opinion, and afterward partly denied having uiado the statement credited to him- Joseph T Melntyio. duel counsel for tho defense, admitted that two of their alienists believed the prisoner was now sane, but raid he did not agree with them.
