George C. lCnsign was selected to deliver the valedictory address for the graduating normal class at the com-I com-I meneement exercises in June. While most J of the members of the class are girls, the general sentiment was for the selcc-liun selcc-liun of one of the young men In the class for this position, and, accordingly, upon tin; recommendation of Professor William M. Stewart, director of the normal nor-mal school, and tho members of the committee com-mittee appointed to make nominations, Mr. Ensign was chosen for tho place-Several place-Several days ago. TC. W. Young, Jr., was selected as volcdietorlan for the college graduates. The reception room at the university, which lias just undergone a complete renovation, presents a. very homelike appearance ap-pearance and speaks well for the efforts i of Miss Lucy Van Colt, dean of women, through .whose efforts the money i was raised to effect this much-needed improvement im-provement The Interior of the room is decottsfd in green.. The walls are tinted green and sonic very tine Lombardy net curtains make the walls look especially well. The woodwork is finished in Flemish Flem-ish oak. The furnishings have been largely large-ly donated by merchants and others who ! are Interested in tho school, and while i other improvements are planned the tooni at present affords a comfortable i resting place for the young women si.u- dents, as well as a convenient reception i room. - ! Professor F. C.
