Show HO PORPHYRY IN II Wi DRIFT Report, Relative to the Iron Blossom Mine Denied by Jesse Knight. ORE SHOOT LOOKS PROMISING AS EVER AVhy Porphyry, if Present, Need Cause No Alarm in Future Work. There have been rumors of late to the effect that the Tron . Blossom, on drifting- to the southward on the Colorado Colo-rado ore channel, would find that: the limestone would give way to porphyry, which would have a decided effect, and, perhaps, not for the best, on t.hc character of the ore. This report, bc-enmo bc-enmo stronger and stronger, until yesterday yes-terday it was used as the means of explaining ex-plaining why tho stock on the local exchange ex-change has weakened off so positively during the past few days, after .recovering .recov-ering partially from the bear raid of last week. A well known engineer, who is familiar fa-miliar with the Iron' Blossom, and who believes he knows the conditions pretty well in the southern part; of the property, prop-erty, statod Thursday that tho management manage-ment undoubtedly would encounter porphyry overlying the limestone. Nor does he anticipate that there will bo a 113- verv decided alteration in the character of tho ore. although thore are those who arc equally positive that a chango will be found.' U is not generalh' appreciated that, long ago the Beck Tunnel and Colorado Colo-rado managements found exactly just such conditions existing. Towards the south line of tho former and the north end of t.hc Colorado the ore was found to niako in the contact between the porpli3'ry and lime, and it was as rich and extensive there as at any point so far developed of the whole Colorado shoot. Ii will bo recalled, also, that when the Colorado eompauy was making mak-ing preparations to opon the oro towards to-wards this porphyry it was freely predicted pre-dicted that the ore would be cut. off, and could not. extend down into the Colorado proport3 at all. But. these arc opinions and history, better proof that there is 110 porplm-y in the south face of the Iron Blossom is available. Jesse Knight was in Salt Take -osterday from Prove He stated positive that up to date no porphyry had been encountered, and when he last heard from the mine, which was last Wednesday night, the ore body was looking as good and satisfactory as ever. |
