With the more general recognition of the motorcycle and its crowing popularity, popu-larity, Springfield promises to again conic to the front as a sporting center, for Jack Prince, encouraged by experi ments in track building for high-speed motorcycles a I Patterson and Los Angeles, An-geles, has undertaken tho erection of a track here, that in size and perfection perfec-tion surpasses anything that has ever been attempted in the world. In tin's work Mr. Princo brings to boar a vast amount of experience, for during the last twenty vears ho had been engaged in building and opcrnting, bicvele and motorcycle tracks in various va-rious parts of the country. Prince is erecting a track in the form of a true circle, 500 foot in diameter diam-eter on the insido and measuring a full third of a mile in circumference. The bank in every part is 40 degrees, and it is apparent, that this form of track entirely eliminates all problems as lo shape of curves, and expert riders rid-ers say that it will be absolutely safe lo ride at any speed of which the machines ma-chines and men arc capable. The track is located about three miles from the business center of Springfield, Spring-field, close to a trolley line. Besides motorcycle ' racing, an immense im-mense amphitheater will afford a splendid splen-did place for other athletic sports. |
