Show PEDDLERS BOLD ATTEMPT TO STEAL CITY STEEL I'eddlora Thursday afternoon made a bold attempt to tral COO pounds of steel belonging to the city, stored back of building? along Fourth Smith street between be-tween State and Second East streets. Driving up hi a one-horse wagon to a large pllo of steel bars stored thero by the city engineering department the peddlers ped-dlers began loading them into their w.m-011. w.m-011. They were caught loading tho material, mate-rial, but pretended that they had been sent, after It. and reaOHy agreed to go to tho joint city anil county building to show tholr authority in a purported ord'-r they claimed was given Oicm to remove the bars. On the way to the building, however, thoy lied, loc'dng the horse and partly loaded wagon nchlnd. The police were notified and Policemen C'lnugh and Barker took posEessIon of the horse and wagon.
