Tho Government report on the fall-sown crop of wheat in the United States was given out thirty minutes after the opening of the local'! oxchangc. The report, which gavo the condition of the new crop as being 91.3 compared with a ten-year average of 80.2. had little effect on the market. It having hav-ing apparently been discounted In advance. ad-vance. The market opened weak becauso of general rains throughout tho Southwest South-west and a Id decline at Liverpool. Sentiment continued bearish until about the middle of tho day, when tho market became strong on a brink du-mand du-mand for May by elevator bonnes and Hhoris. Prices advanced steadily throughout through-out tlio remainder of the session, the market closing Htrong near tho high point. May opened 3ftic to liftl?.c lower, low-er, at S9c to S9!c, advunced to Olio and closed at 911c. The corn market was strong all day. chiefly because of weather conditions, which were unfavorable for the movement move-ment of tho crop. Tho May delivery was In good demand and the more dls- taut months were less strong. The prices weakened slightly during the day In sympathy sym-pathy with wheat, but later rallied and held well under the close, which was strong;. May corn opened Atf?jc lower to JftSc higher, at 064c to 603c. sold between be-tween GGie and C71e and closed at G71c.
