' STRUGGLE WITH P0VERTV PROVES TOO EXACTING Death's Victim a Widow With Seven Children: Born in England. Left a widow with the care of soven children, Mrs. Mary A. Pugmirc, of 2S Tollards court, heroically fought to keep the wolf from flic door by taking in washing, but the strain of the years ot unequal toil was too great, and she sulTcred a fatal attack of heart trouble, superinduced by ocerwork, in the streets Wednesday aftornoon. Returning home from up .town, accompanied ac-companied by a fourtcon-ycar-old daughter, her heart failed as she was crossing the railway tracks at Second South and Third West si root 8, about 5 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, and she fell to the street unconscious. Passers by saw her fall, and carried her to the Sallair depot platform. Thev then notified the police department, and Policemen Phillips. Bccksfad and MeCormack, in the patrol wagon, hurried hur-ried to the scene, and transferred lhc .dying woman to the emergency hospital at the citv iail. Police Surgeon Summoned. Dr. S. Cf. Paul, police surgeon, was. hastily summoned, but before he could arrive Mrs. Pugmirc passed awav. She was takn into the nniergenev hospital' al 5;0G o'clock and died' at .1:10. o'clock. The body was taken from the ; emergency hospital to O'Donnoll's undertaking un-dertaking parlors. The funeral has not been arranged. The familv is absolutely destitute, it is understood, porsons step in and render aid the burial may be at tho expense of the county. Mrs. Pugmirc was a native of Kng-land, Kng-land, coming to this county in her youth. Her age was 40 years. Ten years ago her husband died, nnd two years ago she moved from Coalville to Salt Lake. Her eldest son, 21 years old. had just obtained work as a teamster Wednesday morning, and was getting in a position to aid his mother in tho unequal fight against povertv that she had waged through tho chill winter months. Another son, fifteen, recently procured employment at Hewlett Hew-lett Bros. Tho soven orphan children range in nges from 10 years to 21.
