The discussion of the immigration station sta-tion bill opened up tho whole subject of immigration and excited the interest inter-est of the entire House. Members from both sides of tho chamber clamored for recognition, which carried with it the right to speak for an hour, if so desired. de-sired. ! ' The debate was notable in that it was indulged in largely by members serving their first terms, and who found ! in the bill a chance to make their maiden maid-en efforts at speech-making on tho floor of the House.
