Show KNIGHTS OF PVTHTAS JO HAVE STATE DAT Salt Lake Lodges in Charge of Outing at Saltair August 13. Knights of Pythias of Utah, numbering several thousand, are to have their first State Day 'at Saltair August 13 The "day" was arranged for by the last State Grand Lodge meeting at Park City, which put the arrangemonts in the hands of a committee composed of the past grand chancellors. While- tho organization organiza-tion has nourished here for twenty-seven years there have been no annual reunions, re-unions, such as a "day" means, and tho Innovation Is arousing Interest throughout through-out the State. The past grand chancellors placed the entire management of the day In the hands of the three Salt Lake lodges, Calanthe Myrtle No. 1. Rocky Mountain No. 3, and Lincoln No. 23, and theso lodges, in order to promote a representative represen-tative attendance, made a bopsting committee com-mittee "Composed of Lloyd P. King, J. T. Lavcry, R. N. Thorpe, and .1. T. Shields, who have arranged visits to everv lodge In the State to explain the purpose of the "day." This purposo Is to provide funds to establish a club house In Salt Lake City where entertainment will be provided for all the knights of Utah. To complete the plans that are deemed adequte for such purposo about $3000 will be needed and it Is hoped to mako this at the "day." Excursions at reduced rates will "be run from all parts of tho State. The programme pro-gramme will Include athletics and I-lelds band of sixty. |
