A complaint was aworn to in the police po-lice court Thursday by Joseph Floes and Robert Borkhclmor, cooks, against tho Intcr-Mountaln Employment company, charging that institution with obtaining money by falso pretenses. Early In tho present month, tho complainants com-plainants aver, thoy paid tho agency $8 for securing thorn employment at the Continental mlno at Alta. The understanding under-standing was that should the employment last less than a month tho fee should be returned. The men worked but two woeks and applied to tho agency for their $S. Got an Additional Five. Of course It was refused, the manager promising on payment of an additional $5 to find them other positions. Tho money was paid and tho mon were sent lo Copperton. where they were Informed good Jobs awaltod them. Arriving there, however, they found that other cooks i had "beaten them to It." They came back to Salt Lake and domandod their $5 back from the agency. They wore laughed out of tho offlco, according lo their story, and are now shy 513 and Jobless. Henco the complaint. |
