In this he was partially successful, although tho company com-pany has decided to purchase their own outfits entirely, and Mr, Slegel Is now looking for three or four freight teams 1 as a starter. Freighting has become one of the most lucrative lines of White Pine activity. Four to six-horse teams bring the owners In $25 a day, tho expenses ex-penses are not over $7 a day per outllt, leaving a clear profit a day of SIS. Before the departuro of Manager Slegel from tho mino, at a point 50 feet southwest south-west of tho main stope between the two tunnel levels, a fine ore body was encountered, en-countered, the exact extent of which will not. be known until tho miners have done more exploratory work. One grab sample, sam-ple, however, assayed clghty-fivc ounces silver to the ton, and this new resource may prove to he not the least of the Slegel Sle-gel Consolidated company's nssets. White Pine county has a most enviable future before it, even viewed In the light of the more recent developments In other counties ot that great State. Near this property Is Schelbourue, a camp whose past record rec-ord is still a household word In White Pine. Ore from th nearby properties was transported years ago to Reno, and rumor has It that It wns freighted as far as San Francisco, There are yet to be seen here the ruina of tho old mill and Us accessories.
