Show IDAH0ANS PROTEST. Do Not Want a Divide-Up of Minidoka Minido-ka Irrigation Funds. Special to Tho Tribune. WASHINGTON. D. C, March .-Protests aro being received by Senator Hoy-burn Hoy-burn and President Roosevelt from residents resi-dents of Cassia county, Ida , ugalnst tho action of tho Secretary of the Interior In diverting one-half of the fund apportioned for tho Minidoka Irrigation project to the Boise-Payette project. It Is expected ex-pected that the President will sustain tho action of tho Interior department, as the proposed division of funds was recommended recom-mended by officers of the reclamation service, ser-vice, who havo been giving both projects careful study. It Is claimed by the reclamation service that It Is not practicable to proceed with this part of the Minidoka project, bOcauso It requires the operation of pumping plants, and that tho diversion of funds which had been apportioned for this purpose pur-pose will not affect or greatly delay tho Irrigation part of the project |
