Kuropatkln's latest offensive movement move-ment wa3 to capturo the Important position posi-tion at Sandopas, on the left bank of the llun river, und thereby outflank the Japanese Jap-anese from the Shakhe river and enable the Russian army tc undertake a general gen-eral advance. At Sandepas tho Japanese occupied a strongly fortllled position commanding iho triangle formed by the confluence of tho Hun and Shukhe rivers.
