Police Captain Cap-tain Duke was stabbed four times last night by Michael Kecfe, aged 20 years, but tho Injuries wcro not of a serious nature. na-ture. Duke roomed at the houso of Keofo's slstors. and last night whon tho Captain returned to tho houso he was informed in-formed that young Kecfo had been drinking drink-ing heavily and had Insulted a ynung woman who lived with tho family. Duke visited Keefo'a room, awakened him and remonstrated with him. Keefe became angered, followed Duke and assaulted him with a pcnknle. one of tho wounds being over tho heart Kecfo was overpowered and handcuffed nnd Duke nought surgical assistance. Keefe escaped with the Irons on his wrists an! ran Into a policeman. Ho was later charged with assault with a deadly weapon, and today attributed his acts to drink. Duke Is confined to his bed.
