Educated at Cambridge university, in England, young Blyoth early prepared himself for tho civil service In India and later took up the profession of law. Ho was admitted to the bar, but soon forsook that pursuit for the dramatic 6lago. HIb first public appearanco In America was at tho Fifth Avenuo theater In this city, many years ago. and Binca that time ho had a leading part In many of tho great successes of tho stage. He was at various times leading man for Modjeaka and Lily Langtry, and In many other prominent companies. Mr. Barrymoro also was well known a3 on author and playwright Among his plays was tho "Nadjcska," which was written for Modjcska In 1S76 Mr, Barrymoro married Georgia Drow, a daughter of Mrs. John Drew and sister of John Drow, the well-known actor.
