I Tho first fruits of the offorts jt tho i Commercial club to socuro to tho Jobbers I J of Utah cities tho commorclal Held of Gouthcnslorn and southwestern Nevada, and especially of tho Goldfleld and Bullfrog Bull-frog districts, Jn competition with San Francisco jobbers, were Gathered yesterday, yester-day, whon two consignments, each consisting con-sisting of a carload lot, wcro ordered direct di-rect from Goldfield, to bo shipped via tho San Pedro, Los Angeles &z Salt Lake railroad to Callente, and from there to be hauled overland to Goldfleld-Fifty Goldfleld-Fifty Kegs of Nails. Tho first was an order for a carload of assorted hardware, Including an Item of fifty kegs of nails, which was ordered by a big hnrdwaro merchant of Goldfield 5n a lottor direct to the Strcvoll-Patcrson Hardware company. The Instructions from the merchant were to ship via San , Pedro, Los Angeles & Salt Lako railroad to C. L. Marsh, Callente. The othor was a carload of whisky, received re-ceived by the San Pedro, Los Angeles & Salt Lako railroad, with billing routed over the local lino to Callcnto and for 1 delivery overland to Goldfield. 1 Tho two incidents show that the Gold-field Gold-field merchants aro in earnest in tho agreement they have entered into with C. L. Marsh, who has been very actlvo in Ills efforts to arouse tho interest of the Salt Irako merchants In the new field for commercial extension that has been opened to them. Tho two consignments above referred to may bo considered trivial, triv-ial, but tho point is that It has been j demonstrated that the Goldfield people ' have concluded that It Is to tholr advan-, advan-, tago to look to Utah as thoir natural em-' em-' 1 porlum and to buy from Utah jobbers, M and tho Utah jobbers, merchants and i manufacturers should bo quick to occupy I tho field. ' Mr. Marsh's Contract.
