Show SAMUELSON BEATS GOLLETT AGAIN "Wins Almost ns Ho Pleases in the One-Mile Scratch Race. In two straight heats. W. E. Samuelson Samuel-son last night defeated George Collett of New York City, ln a ono-mlle match race. Samuelson rode ln great form and won almost as lie pleased. Collett rode a same raco and followed "Sam" closely until the bell clanged for the sprint. Then the Provo speed marvel cut loose and left his competitor nearly n quarter of a lap ln the rear. The tlmo for the hoats waB 2:01 and 2:00 3-5. The featuro of the evening was the five-mile handicap lap ruoe for the professionals pro-fessionals which was won by Samuelson. Samuel-son. Sam led the bunch most of the way and at the flnlflh developed a sprint that was remarkable. After riding rid-ing well In front most of the way tho "Pride of Provo" rodo the lost two laps at 11 pace that would bring terror to a quarter-miler. "Pedlar" Palmer came second, Holllstcr third, Stevens fourth and Acorn fifth. Time 10:36 1-5. AVelser and AVest copped llrat money in the amateur tandem race after leading lead-ing all tho way.
