People returning from old .Mexico have muoh to say of the manner In which the lanfls settled upon by Mormons Mor-mons from Utah have developed and thrived under their Irrigation. President Presi-dent Diaz has offered to this class of settlers every inducement to take up land In the country and the result is that tho Mormon colony through lp region Is yearly growing larger! The present Mormon movement Is toward Sonora, one of thi? richest of the northern north-ern States of the Republic. Already large colonies have settled there and a tract several hundred square miles will hoou be acquired bnten prominent in the affairs of the church in Mexico. It is desert land, but tho prospective purchasers pur-chasers intend to reclaim and Irrigate it to make it one of the llncst sections in their Mexican possessions. |
