Show COURT ORDERS INQUIRY, j District Judge Directs Investigation Into Defunct Savings Association. DENVER. July 26. District Judge Booth M. Malone today granted a petition, pe-tition, of the attorneys for creditors of the defunct Fidelity Savings association, associa-tion, for which a receiver was appointed on July 1, for permission to Investigate Investi-gate the affairs of that Institution. The Fidelity's liabilities are about 51.000,000 and some of Its aesets are said to bo of uncertain value. "If the District Attorney has any reasonable rea-sonable grounds to believe that any perwn connected with the company or Its business has been guilty of violating violat-ing any of the laws of this State, It Is his sworn duty and he should proceed to Investigate and promptly bring such guilty person, no matter who he may be, to just and speedy punishment," said Judge Malone from the bench to-'day. to-'day. . The expense should be borne by the county and not by the depositors. District Attorney Harry A. Lindsley has announced his intention of calling the attention of the grand jury to certain cer-tain circumstances In connection with the Fidelity association failure, when It convenes" next week. |
