Show MR. ANDERSON EXPLAINS. Editor Tribune: Tn your editorial this morning on tho Republican State convention conven-tion you say: "There is somewhat of a departure from the usual rule In vogue here in tho manner of choosing tho dele-Kates, dele-Kates, as applied to this county especially. Tho present call requires a county convention," con-vention," and you add further "that it makes more red tapo In tho transaction and requires an additional Intermediary convention." This is incorrect. Thoro Is no departure from tho usual rule and no moro red tape. Tho languago in tho present pres-ent call Is Identical with that used In Stato convention calls for several vcars past, to wit: "The respective county 'committees 'com-mittees aro requested to call conventions or to otherwlee arraiiKC for the election of delegates to tho Stato convention " This leaves tho county committees absolutely free, as herotoforc, to choose their own method of selecting delegates, County committees understand this to bo their business, and tho present State committee has not mado any Innovation. Tho baste of representation Is ns usual on the vote for a Republican official ohosen at tho latest Koneral election In the State, Two years ago it was made on tho voto for Governor. Respectfully, JAS. II. ANDERSON, Republican Stato Chairman. Bolt Lako City, March 9th. |
