County The year 1901 witnessed renewed activity In the district around Frisco This region lying 1 about 250 miles south and west of Salt Lake City reached by a branch of the Oregon Short Line railroad thus giving an outlet for the product of Its mines to the smelters and markets For more than twenty years the Horn Silver mine ban maintained a steady output from the I rich sliver ores contained in Its properties These have been sufficiently rich the operations so extensive and the management sufficiently wise to hove won and paid to its owners more than 5250000 In dividends The unsatisfactory condition of the silver market In 1JOl led this company to pursue a more extensive ex-tensive working of the copper zone which had been avoided in the mine In previous years when the price of copper was low This policy of the management manage-ment In 1901 proved to be a source of large revenue and the exploration of the copper reserves show that they are both extensive and high grade While nearly the entire output of Beaver county was contained In the 8100 + tons of firstclass ore and the 3150 tons of concentrates shipped by the IForn I Silver In 1901 here were also other shipments made by the mines of the district l dis-trict chief among which was the O 1C mlno belonging to the MtijeHllc Mining j company This property is opened to a depth of 400 feet from which development
